What's important?
ESD, antistatic and insulating footwear are different
ESD and antistatic footwear control static charge; they must not be used as a substitute for insulation against electric shock. A non-metallic toe cap alone does not provide electrical insulation either.
Markings and limitations of use
Review the electrical test certificate, applicable standard and manufacturer's usage limits for the relevant model. Do not infer operating voltage or arc protection from a general safety class.
Pre-use check
Include wetness, contamination, cuts and sole wear in the control plan. If special electrical protection is required, verify maintenance, storage and inspection intervals from the manufacturer's instructions.
